Splinter Cell Blacklist Review

Hey gamers! Alright I'm be giving my thoughts on this game. I'll get straight to the point.

This game it's all about stealth. So if you love playing stealthy games then you can give this a try.

The pros
  • camera angles are good and are easily adjust.
  • the original mechanics like peeping under a door and clinging onto pipes are still in this game.
  • cover system still intact and pretty good.
  • goggle visions are improved with purchase of new goggles.
  • suit can be upgraded to improve your armor stats, stealth stats and weapon handling stats.
  • wide variety of weaponry to choose from. (definitely have to purchase with the money you earn from each mission and also from daily challenges and other challenges along the way.)
  • easy to earn most of the trophies.
  • customizing your own weapons and attachments.
  • customizing your loadout anyhow you want according to your style or needs.
  • able to change loadout at certain points in the mission itself if you require it if not just stock up on ammo and gadgets.
  • earning money in this game is damn easy.
  • checkpoint implemented in every mission.
  • Coop has been implemented in this game but only Issac Briggs' mission is compulsory for 2 players. Either Coop online or through split-screen.
  • "Mark and Execute" comes in handy if you need to eliminate 3 targets at once.
  • Hidden paths are in every mission. It is really up to you to choose how you wanna play the mission. Either avoid detection or kill on sight, these hidden paths are there if you require them to make a swift escape after making a ruckus. Ofcuz you will have to find them and this allows your to earn Exploration Points.
  • Game-level design are well made for a stealth game.
  • Graphics of the game well not one of the TOP NOTCH but it ain't that bad.
  • Game's AI are intelligent. (So make sure you don't get detected if not they will hunt you down relentlessly.)
  • Forced to remain undetected and kill by nonlethal in all the missions. (it's a good way to make gamers experience the stealth gameplay)
  • Call of Duty element is implemented in this game which is surprising but fun having all the action.
  • SMI interface introduced and all your missions are to be chosen from here only. So if you completed the entire game you can only replay the missions by selecting them from this interface. Multiplayer and Coop gaming session are accessed from here only.
  • playing this allows you to do some critical thinking in situation where you have to avoid getting detected by guards, laser beams, security cameras and so on with the use of gadgets and skills to clear them all and remain undetected. So it ain't too bad you're actually using your brain.

The cons
  • Die too easily even when you have a full body armor
  • Getting detected is unwise. You will die almost immediately so stealth is the best option and solution to play the missions.
  • Dogs are hard to deal with if you don't avoid them. Once they spotted you all the guards will be on your trail.
  • Most of the time the game environment is pitch dark so your visor is a must all the time. Be it night vision or sonar vision.
  • In single player campaign mode, armored soldiers are tough to kill. It required 2 players to coop and take them down easily with the "mark and execute button" which sadly doesn't work on single player.
  • Some missions have specific goals such as "remain undetected and do not kill anyone". Some players might find this kinda missions frustrating.
  • Although it allows you to play however you want, whatever play style you desire, it still has some restrictions on certain mission. There's 3 style of playing in this game, we have "Ghost", "Panther" and "Assault". Mostly Ghost and Panther styles will be use. Going Assault will be suicidal unless you know your way around the map.
  • The Multiplayer mode, Mercenaries have a 1st person mode which very much sucks and doesn't make it interesting unlike the previous Spies VS Merc.

So Graphics I'll rate it a 7/10
Game-Level Design a 9/10
Game Storyline a 9/10
Voice Acting a 9/10
Multiplayer a 5/10

Overall I'll give this game an average of 8/10.
